Governance Services Manager

In his role as Governance Services Manager, John maintains, develops and manages the provision of quality, cost effective clerking, training and development services for governors, trustees and school leaders. His main duty is to provide local authority governance support services in order to empower governors and trustees in fulfilling their statutory duties in leading and governing their schools and academies. Through his management, John ensures that all team members maintain up to date knowledge and awareness of governance legislation and initiatives to enable them to provide strategic guidance to school leaders and boards.

As a Governance Support Officer, Marie works with school leaders, governing and trust boards to provide effective support and guidance in order to strengthen school leadership and governance. All team members have undertaken the National Clerks Development Programme and have a wealth of experience in all aspects of clerking enabling them to provide advice and support on governance regulations, statutory guidance and procedures. All team members have the comprehensive knowledge and expertise to support not only full board meetings but working and statutory committees.

In her role as Governance Training Officer, Marie co-ordinates the annual centre based training programme for governors, trustees and school leaders. Through the Team and her contact with Governors, Marie maintains and develops a comprehensive and varied programme of training and events to equip governors and trustees with the necessary skills to manage their schools and academies effectively. Marie, with the Governance Services Manager, works closely with both internal and external trainers to quality assure the training programme to ensure all sessions and events meet the desired developmental and professional outcomes.

In her role as Governance Development Officer, Annette supports the development of governing and trust boards through training, information sharing, audit and self-evaluation, to enable them to fulfil their strategic role in school improvement. Annette assists boards by assessing their development needs in order to design and deliver bespoke training and development to empower governors and give them the necessary knowledge and skills to provide effective governance within their schools and academies.

Senior Governance Support Officer

As Senior Governance Support Officer, Judith monitors the delivery of a quality and cost effective Clerking and Support Service for governors, trustees and leaders, and assists the Governance Services Manager in quality assuring this part of the service. Judith provides support to governing and trust boards in fulfilling their strategic responsibilities and also line manages the team of Governance Support Officers to ensure that high service standards continue to be maintained.
